Nalini Singh’s Visions of Heat MEME!!

Posted by Jenn on February 24, 2007

1. Which psychic power would you most like to possess?

Telekinesis – While others like mind reading and the ability to see the future are cool, there has to be nothing better than making things move with your mind. Plus it a great defensive talent. Being attached fling a chair at them or anything else for that matter. Mind readers and psychics get bombarded with visions and other thoughts and to be honest sometimes I don’t want to deal with what is going on in my own mind, let alone cloud it with other peoples thoughts. Plus admit it how cool would it be, you could read in bed with no hands or get the remote just by thinking about it. Life would be so much easier if everything you needed would just come to you with a thought

2. If you could see the future, what would you like to see?

That my children would grow up happy and healthy. The births of my grandchildren if I’m lucky enough to be blessed with them someday. Sadly though there is a very large downside to fore sight you have to see the good with the bad. I would definitely not want to have that knowledge. It’s way too much power to wield over the natural outcome of events. I don’t know that I would be strong enough to fight the urge to fix the things that I wouldn’t like. Which is probably why I’m not blessed with the ability.

3. Imagine you woke up one day and could shapeshift – what would you shift into?

I have always loved large cats, just like my mother did, so it would have to be a lioness, a tiger, or some other type of jungle cat.

4. What kind of a paranormal creature would you invite over for dinner if there were no limits on who you could ask?

Wow that’s a tough one, I would probably say a shapeshifter. There are so many things that I would want to know about the change and the other half of them. If what so many writers create about them is true and if they can still feel their human half after the change? Just to name a few.

5. Which future innovation do you wish would hurry up and get here already? i.e. flying cars, a transporter, computers with artificial intelligence, an auto chef?

Further advancements in medical treatment, things that would make the lives we live healthier and even possibly longer. Anything that would improve the quality of life for the elderly and prevent unnecessary deaths of people in the prime of their lives. Although flying cars is a close second, it would just be so cool.

New Releases

Posted by Jenn on February 16, 2007

February has been a big month for New Releases.

I was amazed at how many books ended up on my list that I wanted to buy.

Of course for me the biggest release this month is from JD Robb, Innocent In Death comes out on the 20th and I can not wait to read this story. Some people say the series has grown stale, but I just don’t see it. I guess since she has been writing these for so long it seems like forever, but really the time line in the book is around the 2 year mark for Eve and Crew.

I can’t wait to see how Nora/JD addresses the appearance of one of Roarke’s old flames. Eve who is so clueless to what a relationship entails will be thrust into a situation she has never had to deal with before. I have faith that everything will work out for Eve and Roarke. I don’t think that she would break them up.

I can’t wait to see how she incorporates Mavis and Leonardo’s new little one into the story. The image of Eve or Roarke holding the baby just makes me giggle. I want to know how Peabody and McNab are doing, how Feeney is doing as well as the chief, Nadine, Baxter and of course Officer Trueheart. For me this series has become more that just Eve and Roarke, it become a world for a people I would love to know and I can’t wait to check in on all of them.

This month also has many notable releases;

Causing Havoc Lori Foster ~ I read this book and I am so ready for the next one in this new series.

The Dream-Hunter- Sherrilyn Kenyon ~ I still have to order this one, this is her first dream-hunter full length novel and I hear that is as good the rest of her hunter series.

Natural Born Charmer- SEP ~ She’ll be a new author to me and I think they are book before this one that I have to read first, which only adds to my growing list of books to buy.

To The Limit- Pamela Britton ~ I lover her Nascar books and I’m anxious to read this next installment.

Chasing Stanley- Deidre Martin ~ Another new author to me, with books before this one, I hear my CC crying already.

Deadly Game- Christine Feehan ~ She is a must have author for me, this is a ghost walker book and I need to order it as well

Edge of Winter- Luanne Rice ~ Luanne always writes incredible characters and I’m sure this book will be no different. Thanks to my friend Lori for turning me on to her.

Hearts Under Caution(NASCAR)- Gina Wilkins
Speed Dating(NASCAR)- Nancy Warren
Danger Zone(NASCAR)- Debra Webb
Thunderstruck(NASCAR)- Roxanne St. Claire ~ These four Harlequin books continue the trend that Pamela started, I read an antholgy with a few of these authors in it over christmas. A Nascar Holiday and I enjoyed it I can’t wait to see what easch of them does with the Nascar theme.

Moon Awakening- Lucy Monroe ~ I just love Lucy’s books, she was a Recommended author over on Lora Leigh’s Forum. I read her books Ready , Willing and Able and now I am hooked on her books.

Island Heat- Susan Kearney ~ I saw her book being toured on many blogs I read and I think that alone has convinced me to check out this book.

Dangerous Games- Lora Leigh ~ Lora Leigh what can I say about her, with her I discovered eBooks. When I first found Ellora’s Cave I bought her book Surrender and Lorie O’Clare’s Pack Law. I have been a huge fan ever since. Also I should note beside being a incredible author she is an even more incredible person. She makes all her fans feel like friends and she is just a wonderful person.

Real Men Do It Better- Antho ~ I used to not like anthologies, but this one has an all star cast and I find that even more an anthology can satisfy my need for diversity in stories all in one handy book.

The Nymph King- Gena Showalter ~ This is another author who is getting blog buzz and I find myself wanting this book as well. The premise is different and unique. I am always open to new authors and new worlds so Ms Showalter is on the TBB list as well

So what books are you most looking forward to and why?

Happy Reading

Challenging Carter by Kate Davies

Posted by Jenn on February 13, 2007

When the stakes are high, she’s ready to shed more than her inhibitions—but will the man of her dreams rise to the challenge?

Dani’s been in love with Carter forever. But she’s nothing like the women he dates—glamorous, exciting, spotlight-ready. Instead, she’s stuck in the “best friend” role and can’t seem to find a way out of it. Until a scheduling mix-up finds her enrolled in a strip aerobics class. Now this buttoned-down wallflower is finding her wicked side—and liking it!
What in the world happened to Carter’s best bud? She’s gone from sweet to sexy in ten seconds flat—and Carter’s lucky enough to be around for the ride of a lifetime. But he knows from past experience that relationships don’t last. He’s got to get things back on track before the most important friendship in his life is damaged forever.
Problem is, Dani has no intention of going back to being “just friends”. It’s about time someone challenged Carter’s assumptions about love and friendship—and Dani’s just the woman to do it!

Like the other two books that precede this new release from Ms. Davies it is filled with a fun yet emotional story that is sweet and to the point. The premise of a woman in love with her friend may not be one that is unfamiliar to readers of romance but Ms. Davies managed to put a whole new spin on it.
Carter is a ladies man that’s for sure, his relationships never last, well at least his romantic ones don’t. The only lasting relationship he has is with Dani , his friend and his companies Financial Advisor. They banter back and forth like and old married couple right out of the gate, the story opens with them debating his spendthrift habits and his ideas about getting the office staff in shape with a wellness challenge.
From the beginning Dani is ready to bow out of the challenge, but Carter is not about to let her. From there it’s a quick, fun filled ride for Carter and Dani. One that leads them from friends to lovers.
All in all I enjoyed this story, as with all of Kate’s stories I wish it had been longer, but other than that it was well worth the wait. Also was quite happy to see Caroline from Strip Tease make a brief appearance in this latest release.

I can’t wait to see what Ms. Davies comes up with next.
